My Power Up Account

How does Power Up work?
Power Up is an MID pilot program that will allow you to pay for electricity service prior to usage. This flexibility allows you to pay as much as you like, when you like and how you like. Power Up will help avoid costly deposits, as well as late, disconnect, and reconnect fees.

How do I sign up?
The initial pilot program is limited to 4,000 customers in MID's traditional electric service area. Net Metering, Medical Life Support, Shave the Energy Peak, or Dusk to Dawn Lighting customers are excluded during the pilot. Your MID Customer Service Representative can refer you to the Power Up program and put you in touch with a member of the Power Up team.

What will I pay?
Power Up Pilot Program Rate

Fixed Daily Charge
*plus any applicable tax and surcharge
$0.99 per day
Summer Rate (May – Sept.) $0.145 per kWh
Winter Rate (Oct. – April) $0.125 per kWh

**We also offer the discounted CARES rate if you qualify.

How can I pay?
Payments can be made 24 hours a day via debit or credit card through online at mid.org/powerup My Power Up Account, mobile app or by calling (209) 408-1554. Cash payments can be made at MID Payment Kiosks, MoneyGram or PayNearMe locations during normal business hours.

Will I receive a statement?
No, you will not receive a paper statement, but you may review your payments and usage through your Power Up online or mobile app account.

Will I be notified of my remaining balance?
Yes, based on the methods of communication selected on your account profile, you can be notified by phone, text, or email.

What will happen if I run out of credit?
If your account runs below the $10.00 minimum balance, your power will be disconnected. Once you make a payment and are reconnected, any usage will be deducted from that balance.

What will happen with my outstanding debt with MID?
Any outstanding balance can be rolled over using our debt recovery program. Once your initial payment of $50 is made, 15% or more of each subsequent payment will be taken to reduce your debt.
